Disorders other than back pain respond favorably to chiropractic and and nutritional therapy. Examples include extremity pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, fatigue, colds and flu, sinus congestion, immune and autoimmune disorders, fibromylagia, environmental sensitivities, indigestion, irritable bowel syndrome, weight problems, headaches and emotional stress.
Muscles are what hold bones in proper alignment. Applied Kinesiology is used to determine weak muscles contributing to ongoing spinal mis-alignments. Techniques are employed to strengthen these muscles allowing your adjustments to hold better. Kinetic testing provides immediate feedback as to the effectiveness of the treatment and is useful in provocative testing for compatibility of nutritional supplements.
Ayruvedic Therapy - Shirodhara
As a very relaxing therapy, Shirodhara is the process of running a fine stream of warm oil sesame oil on the middle of the forehead for ten to thirty minutes. By stimulating the 'Marma', a vital energy point, on the middle of forehead with the oil stream a chemical message is released in the brain that allows the body to go into deep relaxation. Classically, it was used to reduce stress and pain in the head, face, neck, and shoulders. On a more subtle level, energies that travel around the spine are freed which helps to calm and clear the mind. In Tibetan Ayurveda shirodhara is called "psycho - spiritual massage'. It can be considered a sacred experience that enables the client to be more in touch with their inner being.
Gentle,
Low Force Adjustments
You are assured safe and effective care by the use of gentle manual and low
force activator techniques.
Massage
Therapeutic 1 hour and 15 minute muscle massage by a licensed massage
therapist.
The principle oils used include: thyme (thymus vulgaris), oregano (Origanum compactum), wintergreen/birch (Gaultheria procumbens, Betula alleghanienses), Cyprus (Cupressus sempervirens), peppermint (Mentha piperita), basil (Ocimum basilicum), and marjoram (Origanum majorana).
Rain Drop/Tension Release Therapy - The Essential oils are dispensed like little drops of rain above the back and massaged along the vertebrae and back muscles. Then heat is added, to assist the penetration of the oils deep into the tissues. Although the entire process takes about 45 minutes to complete, the oils will continue to work in the body for up to one week following treatment. Some healing properties are anti-viral anti-fungal and de-stressing.
Traditional Thai Massage - A combination of acupressure, deep tissue and passive yoga stretches.
Mind
Body Connection
Awareness of how the mind contributes to your overall health is part of our
wellness philosophy.
Nutritional
Therapy
We use nutritional therapy, cranials, and detox programs to assist the
body in regaining homeostasis (balance). Evaluation using Applied
Kinesiology and Laboratory Panels and Profiles will assist in determining
whether modifications should be made in your fitness program and what
nutritional supplements will optimize your performance.
Supports, shoe orthotics, and rehab equipment are available.
Pain
Management (non-needle ?)
Many painful conditions such as headaches, back pain and neck pain can be
treated effectively through chiropractic care without using drugs or surgery.
Sacro-Occipital
Technique: (S.O.T.)
This is a system of removing the cause of nerve malfunction using minimum force
to restore and maintain health. S.O.T. employs the use of wedge shaped blocks to
allow the body to seek its correct alignment and balance. There are many
combinations of block positions used, and these are determined by tests that
precede each adjustment. S.O.T. recognizes the importance of body language in
the form of neurological tests, weak muscles, tender areas and other signs and
indicators to determine the type adjustment needed. As the body responds and
heals, stress areas around the body are eliminated and natural tolerance levels
are reinstated.
Ten essential oils are dripped on the spine and then gently massaged in. A warm, moist pack is placed on the back. Benefits include antiviral, antibacterial, and de-stressing. See massage (above) for more description.
